About the Bake Off

The Oxfordshire Bake Off is a one-day baking competition, taking place on Saturday October 5th at Oxford High School in Summertown, Oxford.

Entry is open to all home bakers of any skill level. We simply want to share the love of home-baked goodness in Oxfordshire!

Entering the competition is easy peasy squeezy. You simply pre-register by fillling out an application form. Entry is £5 per category, or £10 for three categories. For juniors, it is £3. All your entry fee will go to our amazing charities.

As well as the competition, there will be plenty of bakey and crafty action to keep the whole family amused, including workshops, stalls, a pop-up tea room, and the Great Bake Sale. Come hungry.

What to expect on the day?

You bake in advance, in the comfort of your very lovely kitchen, then on the big day you bring your splendid bakes to Oxford High School between 11am and 11:30am. When you arrive you will be handed your goody bag, which will include your entrantʼs details and you then display your bakes in the designated area.

Between 11:30am and 1pm our expert judges will stuff their faces and pick the best bakes. Prizes will be given for first and second in each category, and an overall ʻStar Bakerʼ will also be chosen. While this all happens you are free to enjoy the stalls, take part in a workshop and have a cuppa in our vintage tea room.

At 1:30pm the Bake Off awards will be given out – it could be you! Prizes for the best bakes will include cookery items and experience days.

If you are happy for us to sell your bakes, they will go on sale at the Great Bake Sale and then everyone will be free to purchase – with all funds going to the charities. Please tick the box on the application form to say you are happy for us to put your bakes up for sale!

After that, please do stay to enjoy the event. The event will end at 4pm, when we’re stuffed from head to toe in cake.

Happy baking! Remember now, you get out what you pudding.
